Delete your Jist account
Jist is made by Berkeley Labs LLC.
You can delete your Jist account and its data yourself, in the app or on the web, or ask us to do it.
Delete it yourself (fastest)
Deletion happens immediately and can’t be undone. To keep a copy first, use Export your data in the same Account section: it downloads everything we hold for your account, and your follows as OPML for another reader.
- In the iPhone or Android app: open Jist, tap You, scroll to Account, tap Delete account, and confirm.
- On the web: sign in at app.tryjist.com, open You, choose Delete account, and confirm.
If you pay for Pro through the App Store or Google Play, cancel the subscription in your store account first. Deleting your Jist account doesn’t cancel it. Here’s how.
Ask us to delete it
If you can’t sign in, email support@tryjist.com from the email address on your Jist account with the subject “Delete my Jist account”. Sending it from that address is how we confirm the request is yours. We’ll reply to confirm and delete your account within 30 days.
What gets deleted
- Your account and login: your email address, password and display name
- The sources you follow, your categories and imported lists
- Your private feeds, including their links and every item retrieved from them
- Saved items, reading and listening progress, and your Done and dismissed history
- Your highlights, notes and collections
- Your topic and source rules, Discover choices and personalization data
- Your Ask questions and history, and the Briefs written for you
- Your share links, which stop working immediately
- On the device you delete from: recently viewed reading and downloads
What is kept, and why
- Purchase records. Apple, Google and RevenueCat keep records of subscription transactions, such as the product and date, because payment and tax rules require them.
- Analytics and crash reports. Usage events at PostHog and crash reports at Sentry are deleted on those providers’ retention schedules. Email us if you’d like your analytics data deleted sooner.
- Backups. Copies in our database backups are overwritten within 30 days.
- Public content. Articles, episodes and AI summaries from public sources aren’t tied to you and stay in Jist’s shared library.
Downloads on other devices stay there until you sign out on that device or delete the app. See our Privacy Policy for more.
